Warnings
The Forest Service closed these cliffs indefinitely to climbing, jumping and diving in August 2017; it is a misdemeanor with possible federal charges, so be careful. Two deaths (2005, 2017) and injuries most summers, including a spinal injury in 2017. The 2017 victim hit rock under silty water the sheriff described as full of hidden shallow spots.
Access
Off Summit County Road 30 near Heeney, White River National Forest. Summit County added no-parking zones along CR 30 after the closure; the cliffs are a short scramble from the road.
Best conditions
Mid-July to August for the warmest water. Visibility is poor at any time.
