Warnings
Undertow at the base of the falls drowned a jumper in June 2023. Landings go from deep to shallow abruptly; hidden rocks; the bottom shifts yearly. Rattlesnakes on the approach.

Steelhead Falls Trailhead off NW 43rd Street; roughly a mile round trip on a mostly flat desert trail.
Best conditions
Summer, when Deschutes flows are manageable and the desert heat makes the cold water welcome.
