The most popular jump on Lake Tahoe: a narrow granite fin on the Rubicon Wall between D.L. Bliss and Emerald Bay, about 25 feet to the water with a fixed rope up the back and more rock from 15 to 40 feet along the wall. A 46-foot rope swing hangs nearby some summers.

Warnings

Tahoe is cold and very deep here; the wall drops straight off. Boat wakes under the landing on weekends. State park signs say no jumping from the developed beach areas.

Access

Best by boat from Emerald Bay or Meeks Bay. On foot, park at D.L. Bliss (state park fee) and follow the Rubicon Trail south from Calawee Cove, then scramble down to the water south of the lighthouse.

Best conditions

August, when Tahoe is at its warmest.
