Confirmed by 0 jumpers

A reef of basalt pillars standing out of the Snake between the Perrine Bridge and Shoshone Falls, reachable only by paddling two miles up the canyon. By late summer the river drops off the pillars into clear pools and the whole thing becomes a private set of rocks to swim and jump from, 500 feet below the rim.

Warnings

Heights and depths are not measured here, and the channels between the pillars run fast — check conditions before climbing out of a boat, and don't try it in high water. It is a 2-mile paddle back with no road access, so a sprained ankle is a serious problem. Base jumpers use the Perrine Bridge on the way past; look up before you drift under it.

Access

Paddle from Centennial Waterfront Park in Twin Falls — about 2 miles upriver, under the Perrine Bridge. Kayak and paddleboard rentals at the park; AWOL Adventure Sports is the outfitter permitted to launch there. No land route.

Best conditions

Late July through October, when flows drop and the pillars are exposed. In spring it is a genuine waterfall and not a place to get out of a boat.
