Warnings

The reservoir draws down 50+ feet in late summer and fall, so what was deep in July is rock by September. Check the current level before jumping.

Access

West Side Road (FR 895) from Hungry Horse Dam; Lost Johnny Point at about mile 9 and Lid Creek at mile 15 have ramps and shoreline access (Flathead NF). Boat gives you the best rock.

Best conditions

July and August when the reservoir is near full pool.
