East Fork San Gabriel River pools
UnverifiedIntermediate (31-60 ft)34.24910, -117.76010
Confirmed by 0 jumpers
The string of granite pools along the East Fork on the way to the Bridge to Nowhere — aquamarine water, a natural slide at the first one, and ledges to jump from, thirty-five miles from downtown Los Angeles. The river crossings keep the casual crowd near the trailhead, and it gets better the further up you walk.

Warnings
No measured heights or depths here, and the river moves its boulders every winter — look before you jump, every time. The crossings are the real hazard in spring: this canyon has drowned people in high water. Gold panners, graffiti and broken glass near the trailhead; it gets cleaner the further up you go.
Access
East Fork Road out of Azusa to the Heaton Flat / Bridge to Nowhere trailhead, Angeles National Forest. Adventure Pass required to park. The pools start about a mile up and continue toward the Narrows; the trail crosses the river repeatedly, so expect wet feet. The pin is approximate — the pools are spread along the river.
Best conditions
June through September, after the spring melt drops out of the East Fork.
