Warnings
Cold-shock has killed swimmers here; the water is snowmelt even in August. Do not jump in high runoff. Remote, no cell service.
Access
Indian Crossing Campground at the end of FR 3960 above the Imnaha (Northwest Forest Pass), then 2 miles up the Imnaha River Trail 1816. Long gravel drive from Joseph.
Best conditions
August. Snowmelt keeps the river high and the pool dangerous into July.
