Warnings

No shore to speak of; you climb out on rock. Reservoir level drops through summer, so check depth on the road side before jumping.

Access

Lake Cushman Road (FR 24) from Hoodsport, past the resort and onto gravel; the rock is at the roadside a few miles before the Staircase bridge. Free shoulder parking that fills by late morning on hot weekends; Northwest Forest Pass past the bridge.

Best conditions

July and August. The lake is fed by the North Fork Skokomish and stays cool.
